Skittles Weekend

April 29, 2017

The first skittles night of the season was held this weekend (many thanks to Hazel on the scoreboard, Madge and Peter for helping out putting the pins back up, and Richard for helping us set up). It was girls versus boys as usual and as a girl I really want to say that it was a very close game and the girls won but unfortunately that wasn't the case. The boys were on form and obliterated the girls every round with Tony and Andy getting strikes. Andy gained the highest score by getting a score of 17 in one round closely followed by Tony's impressive score of 15. The usual banter was present and we hope everyone enjoyed themselves. We have already been asked if we could hold another skittles night soon. Also as a girl I still think the boys cheated somehow, just you wait until next time boys!

The final scores were:    Round 1 - Girls 66
                                                        Boys 85

                                       Round 2  - Girls 76
                                                         Boys 94

                                       Round 3 -  Girls 78
                                                         Boys 85

This weekend Peter, Karl and Hazel were working very hard building the new tractor garage. I was amazed at Hazel working like a trojan leaving the men just standing around watching her at times. However Peter and Karl managed to keep up and the result is a garage that will do a great job of keeping the tractors out of the rain and safely under lock and key.

David decided to bring his small telescope up to the Pavillion Sunday lunchtime and we all enjoyed having a look at 'the white house' on the hill. Richard had to go one better (he thought) and he turned up with a much larger telescope. Much hilarity ensued as we attempted to put it together, David sat back and let us carry on trying to work out why we couldn't see the white house.  Eventually he just couldn't stand it any longer and stated that we had it pointed the wrong way and we were looking through the wrong part...

Richard found a new foot pump rocket which gave a lot of fun and amusement. We spent more time hunting for lost rockets than actually firing them.

On Sunday Steve decide to hold an impromptu photoshoot in the rapeseed fields surrounding the club for Bianca and Trina. Keep your eyes peeled for the edited photographs which will be posted as soon as Steve has finished them. The girls did a great job and thank you John for being the prop man.
