As we arrived on Good Friday a tiny Robin greeted us at the gate, it was as if it was saying "Welcome back, now where is my food?"
The weather was glorious, the whole club was getting their chalets, caravans and tent sites ready for the season and it promises to be a wonderful season if this weekend was anything to go by. Someone remarked that "It was as if everyone was getting ready for a big party that lasts all summer".
Richard installed the new Pavillion outside lights which are beautiful, thank you Richard. He also installed new lights above his caravan... I think it may attract visitors from outer space but I am sure we would give them a warm Invicta welcome as we do to all visitors to our little bit of paradise.
Andrew was on a winning streak on the pool table and fully expected to hold on to his 10 Reds trophy when an impromptu game was suggested but the ladies took over and Lin took the trophy of the night with Tracey coming in a close second. Steve still insists he was robbed and Karl had to take the shots of the night with the ball bouncing aimlessly around the pool table yet still managing to pot balls in two consecutive shots in this style, it really was something to witness.
There were a few members taking advantage of our ping pong table with much laughter filling the club. Dave and Sue are revamping our badminton court so we can enjoy a game very soon. The very first person in the pool this year was as always Vic. I still say he is either a very dedicated swimmer or completely bonkers. Vic was followed very closely by our new secretary Dave who dived in then declared it was freezing! Well done to both of you, you are crazy but we love you regardless.
All in all it was a perfect weekend to start the season in earnest, with friends, fun and a glorious sunset. What more could you ask for...
